The root cause of the issue that ECEJeff had is covered by this errata. This is fixed on the QIAABB version, so that means that you have another issue.

Nordic was able to give me a fix through the support ticket. Boiled down to an issue with the USB calibration on the batch of engineering samples I had.

Hello. I have the same problem. I am using my custom board, QIAABB version. I have enabled CLI over RTT, softdevice, SDK14. I also use patch for error [187]. With NRF_LOG_ENABLED (with RTT backend) USB works fine (mass storage and usb audio profiles). But if I set NRF_LOG_ENABLED to 0, then USB is not recognized by a PC.

Yes, they're using ES. I have two identical boards. The build code (bottom line on the IC markings?) is: 1716AK, which happens to be the same as the IC mounted on my PDK.

Are these custom boards using "engineer samples" ?
How many of these custom boards with engineer samples do you have ?
What is the build code on the engineer samples?

No, but I tested with 2 of my own custom boards and had the same issue.

From your description, I suspect it could be a issue with your board. Please create a Mypage support case ticket regarding this issue, and we will provide you with a fix. Remember to add the information about the board version, and the issues with enumerating (USB Device Not Recognized).

What version of the nRF52840 PDK are you using? It should be printed below PCA10056 on the sticker on the kit.
