Hi, I'm working with similar project. I'm using NRF51822 xxAC. I want to update firmware thru GPRS connection via simcom sim 7000E. Do you have any success? I don't have skills to do it by myself. Maybe you can help? 🙂

Are you save the hex file directly into flash of Nordic? If yes, i think you are using the dfu dual page, is it right?

Hi,

I'm in the process of getting the same functionality in place. I have a ZIP file at hand that upgrades through the mobile app successfully.

I have managed to use the GSM modem to download a binary file and store it into the nrf52 flash memory.

What is the next step? Can the firmware update process be initiated by setting certain flags and then resetting the chip?

Which individual files should I upload off the package?

I'm using SDK 15.

Downloading the firmware image through the GSM module is definitely do-a-ble, but most likely not through an http connection. One of the products (not nRF52) in my previous job was upgraded that way (mcu <--uart --> Telit GSM module <-- GPRS/GSM -- > socket listener on a cloud server. The custom bootloader has to drive the whole process, from instructing the GSM module to set up socket conenction to cloud server, to storing the downloaded binary image into internal (for 2 bank update) or external (1 bank update) flash, and potential recovery action if the new image fails to boot up.
