&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:inherit;"&gt;See &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.tools/dita/tools/nrf5x_command_line_tools/nrf5x_command_line_tools_lpage.html?cp=5_1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;this link&lt;/a&gt; for installing &amp;amp; getting started with nrfjprog. Also, these two cases could be helpful (&lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/28729/nrf-connect-error-nrf_error_timeout" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;case 1&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/29774/nrf-connect-error-nrf_error_timeout/118042#118042" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;case 2&lt;/a&gt;). Once you have done that, could you again upload the nrf connect log file to devzone if this doesn&amp;#39;t work.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Then, you can choose the device you want to use there. The number shown under COM refers to the number located on the bottom of the white sticker on the MCU of the 52DK. Then, nrf connect for windows will ask to upgrade the device firmware if necessary.
