I'm a little confused. Did you manage to fix the problem with the device not advertising longer than 3 minutes?

The Github repo. with the examples have now been updated, and the examples have been ported to SDK v14.2.0.

Maybe you could try download the new one, and see if that could help?

Hi Joakim,

I am using nrf5-ble-uart-mpu-data-ready-interrupts.

Only changes I made to the code is

#define APP_ADV_INTERVAL 32
#define APP_ADV_TIMEOUT_IN_SECONDS 0

BLE_GAP_ADV_FLAGS_LE_ONLY_GENERAL_DISC_MODE

The device automatically gets disconnected and shows the following errors.

Ok, if you could elaborate a little about what is not working?

Is the problem still that is advertises for 3 minutes and then stops?

Did you remember to download the application to your device after changing the parameters?

Which one of the github examples are you working on?

Sorry for the late reply.

I tried it again on my phone after changing the parameters but it didn’t work.

I just tested this myself using a nRF52-DK, scanning with our nRF Connect mobile app on an Iphone 7.

The only modification I did was to change;

#define APP_ADV_INTERVAL                 32
#define APP_ADV_TIMEOUT_IN_SECONDS       0

And it workes just as expected. The board has now been advertising non-stop for around 20 minutes.

Does that mean that the device doesn't advertise at all? Or that it is advertising, but stops after 3 minutes?

Maybe you could upload your code, so that I can test it myself?

When changing the APP_ADV_TIMEOUT_IN_SEONDS to 0, you also need to set the advertising flag to;

BLE_GAP_ADV_FLAGS_LE_ONLY_GENERAL_DISC_MODE;

Could you check that this is set as explained in this case?

Hi Smit, I agree with Joakim. The advertising duration of your peripheral is totally independent of type of phone you are using to connect. You may be interested to know that there is normally a #define APP_ADV_TIMEOUT_IN_SECONDS in the main.c file that defines the advertising timeout. The default is 180 which sounds consistent with what you are seeing. This is based on my experiences with the nRF51422. Not sure if it is the same for your device. Good luck. Dino

Hi Smit.
I'm not sure if I understand what your question is.
The fact that the advertising stops after 3 minutes when using a Motorola og Iphone, but not with a Mi Phone does not make sense. If you are advertising from a nRF52832 device, it shouldn't be affected by which phone you are holding in your hand.
Could you elaborate a little about what you problem is?
