&lt;p&gt;If you are looking for small size with antenna included you probably want to have a look at the list of &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/Products/3rd-Party-Bluetooth-low-energy-Modules"&gt;3rd party modules&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;
For instance the Taiyo Yuden modules for the nRF52832 are pretty small.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The nRF52832 will need some firmware to run.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We stopped doing radio only device a while ago, and the latest device we released without an MCU was the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/Products/2.4GHz-RF/nRF24L01P/(language)/eng-GB"&gt;nRF24L01+&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Unfortunately we don&amp;#39;t have the same selection of modules available for this part.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Both the nRF52 series devices, and the nRF24L01+, can be put into a simple TX carrier mode where no data is being sent.&lt;/p&gt;
