Yes, you can use it for production, for debugging on any MCU supported by OpenOCD, Keil, CrossWork, etc... There is no limitation.

I recommend that you have a look at this page about production programmers and tools. You should contact Segger for information about which programmer is best for your needs.

Ok now i understand.. Can you suggest me which one J-link programmer will be use only for flashing sd, application hex, boot loader hex as a production programmer. This will we purchase it is urgent need to programmer a production. as just got from above ans should i use this programmer IDAP-Link CMSIS-DAP as a production.

The IDAP-Link CMSIS-DAP can be used for that. It support all nRF5x series, read back protection, parallel flashing, softdevice + frimware + DFU flashing without requiring mergehex...

It means that if you are producing boards, flash it with your application using your DK and sell this board, you are breaking Seggers terms of use. What the consequences of this will be, you have to ask Segger. See this thread for a link to the page describing the terms. You will have to contact Segger about pricing quotes.

Whats happen if i use nRF5x-DK for flashing our product using nRf go studio. I am not understand as mentioned the license of the OB debugger on the DK does not allow you to use it for production programming. If we are not use DK for production programming so how we purchase the license and let me know sir whats appen if i not purchase this.

Hi Vishal,

ST link will not work with nRFgo Studio, or any of our other development/pragramming tools. Our tools are created to work with Segger J-Link, as this is the only programmer/debugger solution supported by Nordic. If you want to use ST-Link for flashing, you need to use some 3rd party solution like OpenOCD etc.

If you search DevZone or Google, you will find multiple post how this can be done. If you want a simple solution for both programming and debugging/development, that works with all our development tools, the nRF5x-DK is the best and most cost-effective alternative. As mentioned, the license of the OB debugger on the DK does not allow you to use it for production programming, but I don't think you would use ST-Link solution for this either.

Hi to all,

As per my question this is not ans i know can use Nordic DK will use as a programmer but instead of this ST link programmer is it use or not. If not can you suggest me any other external programmer not needed debug only for flash hex file(Not expensive).

Apologies not necessary. Vishal didn't specify. I just thought it was a good idea to clarify the statement of use. I'm sure a lot of people abuse the Segger hardware and it just seems fair to state clearly when one should buy the real stuff from them.

The DK can be used to program custom boards for prototyping/development work. But it is a violation of the Segger licensing agreement to use it for production work. You have to use a normal J-Link or similar for production.

You can use one of the Nordic development kits to program a custom board, we currently use the P20 connector on the PCA10040 board to program our custom board.
