I have a couple of things that I would advice you to take a look at.

We have a tutorial section here on devzone, that you could check out.
The;
Getting started with the nRF51 or nRF52 Development kit
Advertising/Service/Characteristic
is a good place to start. The ad/ser/char tutorials is a little outdated (using SDK 11.) but a lot of the information would still be useful.
Also, one of mye colleagues have a similar tutorial on his github, that is using SDK v14.2.0.

Our all-knowing infocenter is also a good source of information.
We have a getting started page.
You can also find information about the different devices, specs, SDK example exaplanations and so on.

We also have a introductory youtube tutorial-series for using our nRF5 SDK, with focus on using SEGGER Embedded Studio;
