CMSIS should be updated to version 5.6.0 in the next SDK release.

It looks like this got fix in May 2018 within CMSIS 5:

The most recent nRF5x SDK 15.3.0 still uses version 4.30 from October 2015.

Do you know if Nordic plans to update to the most recent version of CMSIS 5?

Hi,

The file cmsis_gcc.h is part of the CMSIS library, it is not maintained by Nordic Semiconductor. If you have requests to change anything in the files, you will have to contact ARM support.
