Hi, I did exactly this (see pic). However, when I unplug and plug the USB cable, the system immediately install the driver automatically. Even if when I try to update the driver manually from the path you told me before, the system says it determines the most up-to-date driver is already installed. But the JLink command just says "No USB emulator" like always.

You should be able to delete the driver completely from the system, by checking this box when choosing "uninstall":

This will fully purge the driver from your system, and you will then need to re-install the usb driver when plugging in the device again. You should do this for both "J-Link" and "JLink CDC UART Port".

I did not use openocd or visualgdb. Not sure which program interfered with my J-Link. By the way, the nRF51 dongle also has exactly the same problem.

Hi,

I was trying to follow the steps in your instruction. However, when I right-click the J-Link device in the device manager window, I do not see delete the device, but see the uninstall driver (see pic). So I clicked Uninstall device, but no "pop up" showed. Also, it automatically installed when I unplug and plug the nRF52DK. Even if I click "Update Driver" with the path: c:\path\to\segger\USBDriver\. The problem still exists :(

Have you recently evaluated openocd or visualgdb? Some users have encountered issues with the Jlink driver afterwards: https://sysprogs.com/w/forums/topic/segger-j-link-no-emulators-connected-via-usb-after-configuring-for-openocd/

You'll then need to right-click on the J-Link device in your device manager, and remove/delete the device. You should then get a pop up with the option to delete the driver from your system. Check this box, then re-install the drivers from c:\path\to\segger\USBDriver\

Thank you for the help. I followed your instruction and it seems the InstallPath is pointing to a valid path. I do have that directory.

If you have had many JLink driver versions installed, it might be that your register entry for the installpath is incorrect.

Open "regedit", go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SEGGER\J-Link\, and there shall be a component "InstallPath" there. Could you ensure that this points to a valid path?

I feel like it's a driver problem too. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all JLink programs. So far the same problem still exists. In the Keil --> "Options for target" --> "Cortex JLink/JTrace Target Driver Setup" dialog, it says "No J-Link found".

Sounds like a driver issue with your PC. Could you try uninstalling all installed JLink instances, and then re-install the latest version?

Yes. I have 2 nRF52DK and 2 nRF51DK. They all the the same problem with my current PC. But they all working very well a month ago. I also have 2 nRF51 Sniffer dongle, but the master control panel cannot recognize it either, which also worked well a month ago. I will try them in other PCs, and will report the phenomenon I will observe here. Thanks,

Do you have other nRF-kits available, and do they work as intended on your PC? Have you tried this kit on another PC to see if it behaves the same there?

The Segger j-link tools will force an upgrade of the internal firmware. Could you try entering the bootloader mode (hold in RESET, then power cycle the board), then reflash with the "J-Link OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi 170724.bin" (or an older version downloadable from here), and wait atleast 10 seconds after copying the .bin to X:\BOOTLOADER before power-cycling the board.

After this, ensure that you have the latest Segger J-link tools installed, then open up J-Link Commander or nrfjprog, and it shall prompt to upgrade your firmware.

It is the firmware version in the nRF52DK. The firmware is "J-Link OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi 170724.bin", which should be the latest version that can be downloaded on Nordic website.
