I have seen someone having problems with uploading the firmware over MCP, so to be sure that isn't your problem, try to use nRFgo Studio, just like you did.

I suspect the issue is that you have not grounded pin P0.30. It says in the documentation that you find by opening MCP, press "help" --> "open help" --> "Supported Hardware". It is not that easy to stumble upon, so it is a common problem. Did you try this?

I do recommend you to switch over to nRF Connect for Desktop, as it is easier to navigate through, and it is still being updated. MCP is now "as is", and will not support new features.
