The board is working fine only when debug is on. Why it is not wokring when we remove the dubugger?

This is from the documentation page I linked above:

Important: When USB is not powered, the Interface MCU is in dormant state and will draw an additional current of ~ 20 μA in order to maintain the reset button functionality.

As described in the documentation, pin reset needs to be enabled on P0.21 on the nRF52832 for the reset button to work. If you have changed the pin number, it might not work.

In your reply, did you mean the Reset button will work when powered by external power supply? or is it a typo?

When powered with USB, if i press the reset button, the P0.23(configured as UART Tx) also resets(pull down for 300ms). But when powered with external power supply, if i press the reset button, the P0.23 doesn't reset.

Hi,

As described in the DK documentation, the interface MCU is in "dormant state" when not powered by USB. LED5 is controlled by the IF MCU, and is most likely not powered in this state. The Reset button functionality is also handled by the IF MCU, and should work in this state. What do you mean by:
