I recently switched an NRF52 project from mbed to raw NRF SDK 14.2. An update to mbed beyond SDK11 didn't seem to be coming and we require bonded DFU support.

So it's good to know we made the right decision about moving away from mbed.

Is zephyr-OS going to be officially supported by Nordic or just a suggestion for a good RTOS?

Hello, mbed port is based on nRF5 SDK, but many of the modules can't be used as mbed implement for instance BLE on it's own. There is currently no ongoing development work with mbed, instead I suggest to check out zephyr-OS.
