I'm currently working on a wireless application and we would like to have a range of atleast 300 meter. Yesterday I was testing the range between 2 SDK boards and had some nice results in the morning.
A theory is that you have a nRF52840-PDK with an Engineering B nRF52840 IC.

Looking at this combability matrix, Engineering B is only fully compatible with SDK 15 and the S140 SoftDevice version 6.0.0

I would therefore strongly recommend that you test with the ATT_MTU Throughput Example in SDK 15.0 instead.

SDK 15 can be downloaded from here.
