This is really true: Do not use Python 3, it won't work! I reverted back to 2.7 (available on the Python web site) and it worked perfectly, right away. This developer website proved to be an awesome tool!

Hi David / Bjorn

I now have it working - I had to versions of Python installed on my machine (2.4 & 3.x) uninstalled both and then put 2.4.2 back on and re installed pyserial.... and I can now see the interface in WireShark.

Verify that you have installed the required software as stated in the nRF Sniffer user guide v2.1 . I think you are missing the pyserial.

This is most likely because you downloaded Python 3 instead of Python 2.7.x (see the Sniffer User Guide for Section 1.2 Required Software) for more info related to this. Should have noticed this a bit sooner. Sorry about that.

Just to mention as per item 2 - I still get the same error for:

On page 17 of the Sniffer V2 Users guide document it ask you to check that the Python batch file can find the interfaces by typing 'nrf_sniffer.bat --extcap-interfaces'

This returns an error:

import serial

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'serial'

I've installed Version 2.4.2 as requested.... The 'View' tab still does not show any 'Interface' selection

See this link for 64 bit & this link for 32 bit. Scroll down until you find the correct version as an .exe file. Do not download the portable version.

Version 2.4.2 does not seem to be available on the wireshark archive.

There is 2.4.5 available - will this do ?

Could you try downgrading the wireshark version 2.4.2 & see if that helps?
