FYI, I aslo tried SDK 12.0.0, SDK 12.3.0, SDK 13.1,0, and SDK 15.0.0 and all had the same issue with Win7. The only version that works with Win7 is SDK 11.0.0

That is a bit strange since this example is not listed to be supported with Windows 7.

It would be of great help and appreciation if you could provide a BLE Sniffer log for the failing scenario vs a working scenario.

Could you provide this if possible?

Hi,

I tried SDK version 11 keyboard example project on the nRF52-DK board and it worked OK with windows 7! What changes in the SDK 12.0 and newer would contribute to this issue? Also can I try the keyboard example in SDK 14.2 with the Softdevice S132 from SDK 11?

Yes, the keyboard is communicating via BLE as I don't have the Gazell dongle attached to the PC.

Desktop 2 keyboard support multi-protocol transport namely the BLE and Gazell (Nordic's 2.4GHz proprietary).

Are you sure the keyboard is communicating with Windows 7 PC via BLE and not Gazell with the nRF24LU1p dongle as the receiver?

But as I mentioned, the Desktop 2 Dev kit (Using S110 sofdevice) works on Windows 7! So Why Can't the new SDK (14.2) and s112 softdevice work on the same WIndows 7 PC?

Hi Anas,

BLE is not supported natively on Windows7. I don't think you can use BLE HID devices on Windows 7 out of the box. It should works on a Windows 8 or 10 machine though.
