that's not the same problem, I received the error output (in my first message) after the nRF Connect hadprogrammed the DK with the latest connectivity firmware.

I also encountered the same problem, I found that because I had burned my DK other FW, when I put it to wipe away, then open the NRF connect, you should be able to get such a hint, then you click yes, you can as before, a normal connection.

Yes, there is probably some hardware reason for incompatibility with PCA10000.
However, it is a pity, that nRF Connect does not provide precise information about the cause of the problem. Message "Not able to find COM7" does not suggest the cause of the problem.

Well, since I don't have experience with applying nRF Connect on unsupported dongles, I don't know how nRF Connects behaves in that case. But according to Nordica resources, the PCA100000 is unfortunately not supported by nRF Connect.

No, in the past I used only MasterControlPanel with this dongle (PCA10000).

I just checked the communication with the PCA10040 DK and here everything works fine with nRF Connect

... in my case probably the reseon is simply nRF Connect dasn't support my dongle;(

in tutorial to nRF Connect is description:

"Supported devices

PCA10028 nRF51 Development Kit
PCA10040 nRF52 Development Kit
PCA10056 nRF52 Development Kit
PCA10031 nRF51 Dongle"

Hi,

I have the same problem as you.

I use PCA10000 dongle (nRF51). After "Erase all" it was automatically programmed.

This is weird because communication with the dongle is OK, nRF Connect was able to read the serial number and processor type. Why later write that it is not possible to find COM7 interface? In my opinion, this is an evident bug in nRF Connect.

The error was eliminated after I updated Windows. Unfortunately, I can not tell what caused the error but it is obvious that it has nothing to do with nRF tools or JLink drivers.

I went through the bundle.js and found out that the function "validatePort" returns undefined "adapterToUse".

const adapterToUse = getState().app.adapter.api.adapters.find(x => x.state.port === port.comName);

Do you know what might be the cause for this error?

After I installed JLink 6.22g, I got the same log output in nRF Connect.

Then I uninstalled the other JLink version and left only v6.22g. The output in nRF Connect was:

Failed to open nrfjprog: Error occured when open device long term. Errorcode: CouldNotLoadDLL (0x3)

Finally I reinstalled nrf command line tools which installs the JLink v6.20 and have the same output as in the first message I posted.

thank you for the response.

I uninstalled and installed again nrf Command Line Tools as well as nRF Connect. It didn't help. I also tried different COM ports without success.

Which JLink firmware version do you recommend?

Seems weird, and you haven't changed anything since last time you tried?

Can you try upgrade the JLink firmware? Also try a different COM port.
