I got this working. As I said, I'm new to DFU ..... so I forgot to enable DFU service in the sdk_config.h file for my application. I also disabled NRF_LOG function and disabled the uart, which helped reduce the size. With all that the DFU package for my application downloaded and started running.

I was just trying to write the application ..... at least all that was in the application build .hex file and put into a .zip package by nrfutil. But this includes the stack as defined in the build doesn't it?

I'm new to DFU and using the bootloader, especially for the nRF52810. I didn't attempt to do anything with bootloader settings, so I assume I got whatever the settings are for the bootloader project above and hoping that would work. I went through the whole DFU process with the nRF52 DK using SDK examples and it seemed to work fine. Let me know if you're aware of something extra that needs to be done.

What are you trying to re write with the bootloader? Your application? stack? both?
