We've tested the HID keyboard on ASOP version of Android here now and we see the same thing. There seems to be something wrong with either the Android asop 4.4.2 or how it HID descriptors are implemented, as we have been able to successfully connect some HID devices, but others not. It could be related to the the setup of the HID descriptors on the nRF51, but we do see that they work well with normal Android, iOS and Win8.1 centrals.

Thanks for your reply. But I have already tested it on android phone but my ques was regarding custom board running android kitkat 4.4.2 (ASOP).

Nordik_keyboard does not appear as Input device in android Settings -> Language & input

Has anyone tested it with android (asop) device ?

Does system(android) need to support specific input driver for this keyboard to work ?

I've tested this on a Nexus5 when it had 4.4.2 and I also ran a test just now with Android 4.4.4 on a Nexus 5 as well as with a Galaxy S5 with 4.4.2. They all connect and can use the HID keyboard example as input, but there's an option in the Bluetooth setting as well whether or not to use this as input source. Have you check this?

Have you modified your Android version in any kind? The HID keyboard requires a bonded connection.

If you're still having issue, I would check the on air communication with a sniffer.
