It works fine when I tested this with SDK 15 ble_app_hids_keyboard, and a Samsung S6. After going out of range, the link will disconnect and keyboard-input on the phone is turned off. When going into range again, the phone and device connected again, and the phone turned on the keyboard-input again automatically.

This is the BLE setting of natively is on all Andriod phone.

But user into this setting interface that the BLE device must is the HID profile.

You could refer below test:

Step1: To use the ble_app_hids_keyboard or ble_app_hids_mouse in the example.

Step2: Remember to add bond function into the example.

Step3: To use Andriod phone bonding with this BLE device.

Step4: Press the bond BLE device setting in the Bluetooth of paired devices list.

Hi,

Are connecting and paring natively in the BLE settings on the phone, or is this a custom app?

What brand and model is the phone? Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, etc
