Is Nordic Semiconductor considering to offer an ANDROID THINGS SoM?

Has Nordic Semiconductor asked GOOGLE if they are considering a Apple Homekit-like approach to integration of IOT devices?

I am trying to move on with Amazon and Google but it takes me a lot of effort and time and I did not take advantage about that. In 95% of the cases you shall pass throght the Amazon/Google Servers...so you shall developt for each platform.

I think you should direct your question to Amazon/Google. If the devices support BLE and GAP/GATT profile, it certainly can connect to examples from our SDK. If no BLE support is available, it will not work.

I am seraching a way to stablish a connection between an IoT device and Alexa and Google Home. An example, Alexa, turn on the light. This order arrive to nRF IC. nRF IC turn On the light and response with a message to Alexa. Finally, Alexa say, it is OK. So simple, so complicate...trying to avoid external servers as IFTTT or similar.

We do not have any specific documents or examples showing connections between our ICs and Alexa (Amazon Echo) or Google Home. What communication were you looking to use, Bluetooth Low Energy or something else?

Amazon does not list any BLE support in the specifications for their Echo devices, only mentions Bluetooth Classic profiles:

Bluetooth connectivity

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) support for audio streaming from your mobile device to Echo or from Echo to your Bluetooth speaker. Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) for voice control of connected mobile devices. Hands-free voice control is not supported for Mac OS X devices. Bluetooth speakers requiring PIN codes are not supported.

I tested with an Echo Plus and it does not list any BLE devices when scanning for Bluetooth devices.

I do not have any Google Home devices available for testing, but at least the specifications say it support Bluetooth 4.1/4.2 and GATT/GAP services. If you have one available, you can try to connect BLE devices as described in the devices documentation. What kind of device do you want to connect, and for what purpose?

The Amazon Echo Plus have a built-in Zigbee hub that you can connect Nordic Zigbee light_bulb example. If you want to test this, you need to change the Zigbee channel in the example to channel 15.
