Hello Bjorn, thank you so much for your help. The problem is solved now. As you said it had something to do with my SDK15 path. So, when i unzipped my nrf_sdk_15 folder, it created 2 folders, one inside the other. So, my path looked like this /Desktop/nordic/Nordic_Semi/nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a/nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a

Then i copied everything from the second folder pasted in the first one and got rid of the other folder. It started working like a charm after that. Appreciate your support!!!

Yes, I did shorten the path for both of them.

So is there anyway I could do a screen sharing with you or any other engineer who could see what the problem is. Thanks!

Did you shorten the path of both the sdk 15 & nrf mesh sdk (i.e. put both in the NordicSemi folder)? Your SDK_ROOT looks correct to me. Are you sure that there is no space (or whitespace) at the end of SDK_ROOT. Unfortunately, I am not able to replicate this issue.

Is this image visible? I tried to shorten the path but it's still not working. I tried deleting my sdk for mesh and downloading again, but still the error persist. This is very frustrating. What am I missing here?

Hi, are you certain that there is no space after your SDK_ROOT global macro in SES? Could you please send me the complete path to SDK_ROOT. I am not able to see the complete path in your last screenshot unfortunately.

Also, could you try making the path to the SDK_ROOT folder shorter (i.e. copying the mesh sdk & sdk 15 folders closer to the C drive for example). It can happen that the path might be too long in your case, which can lead to some errors sometimes.

e.g. I have this SDK_ROOT=C:/NordicSemi/SDKs/nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a

I have talked to another colleague & he mentioned a very similar issue that you are receiving. You can receive compilation problems & not find the correct files if the path is too long or there are whitespaces in your path. You do not have the second issue, but it could very well be that your path is too long.

Sorry. My bad. My last comment was slightly wrong (I just wanted to say that you should change the back slashes to forward slashes). The issue you are having has to be because of an incorrect path to the sdk 15 folder. What you can do is click right behind your SDK v15 folder like shown here:

Then, the windows should be highlighted blue & show you the path to the sdk 15 folder. The path should probably be:

C:\Users\<your windows username>\Desktop\nordic\Nordic_Semi\nrf5_SDK_for_Mesh_v2.1.1.src

Then, change the back slashes to forward slashes (change \ to /):

SDK_ROOT=C:/Users/<your windows username>/Desktop/nordic/Nordic_Semi/nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a

That should definitely work. Let me know if it works. 🙂

What if you try changing SDK_ROOT=C:\Nordic_Semi\nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a to SDK_ROOT=C:/Nordic_Semi/nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a ?

Please see my both SDK's in the same folder. I am using SDK for mesh 2.1.1 . I saw this link http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.nordic.infocenter.meshsdk.v2.0.1%2Fmd_doc_getting_started_getting_started.html&cp=4_1_0_3 to add SDK_ROOT. I am unable to open any source file related to sdk 15. But I am able to run examples from sdk 15. The issue is with only sdk mesh. Please help me to get over with this so that I can proceed further with my project. Thanks,

Sorry for the delayed response. Which mesh sdk version are you using again? You mentioned in your previous answer that you set SDK root in your global macros as : SDK_ROOT=C:\Nordic_Semi\nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a. I have not done this at all, as the mesh SDK defaults to a nRF5 SDK 15 instance unzipped in the same path as your mesh sdk, see below:

I have tried to define the SDK_ROOT like you did: SDK_ROOT=C:\NordicSemi\SDKs\nRF5_SDK_15.0.0_a53641a & that worked too. I am using the same Segger Embedded Studio version as you too. Are you able to open any other source file that is a part of sdk 15? If yes, it might be something wrong with boards.h & your global macro to sdk 15 has been defined correctly.

This means that you will need to include this in the "Set User Include Directories". Find out where "boards.h" is located in the sdk, & make sure to include it in the path in Segger Embedded Studios. Right click on Project 'light_switch_client' in the top left corner -> Edit Options -> change to Common configuration in the top left corner -> Preprocessor tab -> double click on "User Include Directories" & make sure the path to "boards.h" is included there.
