I have loaded in the softdevice and a custom HCI serial bootloader - I say custom because I've disabled flow control and swapped

RE: nRF52832 HCI DFU and Baud Rate Issues

In my case, it turns out to be a bad ground connection to my USB-to-serial adapter.

Once I re-flowed the ground connection, the characters were correct and the issue went away.

To elaborate on what I meant by "scrambled characters" - on startup, my device outputs a "Hello World" message. When the issue was occurring, the "H" would be a different character, as would the "rld", most of the messages were readable but with glitches.

RE: nRF52832 HCI DFU and Baud Rate Issues

Hi Kevin,

I guess we should leave the HCI DFU aside and focus on the UART communication issue first. Could you elaborate more on "any communication via UART is legible but most characters are scrambled" ?

Have you tried to change the USB_SERIAL adapter ? Have you tried to hook a logic analyzer on the UART pins of the nRF52 and check if the data is correct there ?

We ourselves suffered the issue with Segger Jlink driver (that we used as UART-USB adapter) on some computers as well.
