We are currently developing an app which require DFU.
As part of the bootloader development we would like to use the SWO in order to do a printf debug.
In the app we followed the guide in the link below and were successful however in the bootloader

RE: Bootloader debugging using SWO

Hello Danny,

I haven't tested it myself, but if you try e.g. the SDK15\examples\dfu\secure_bootloader\pca10040_debug\arm5_no_packs

I believe this should print the NRF_LOG messages on RTT without any modifications.

Let me know if that doesn't work, and I will look into it tomorrow.

Best regards,

Edvin

i would love to use the NRF_LOG module but i couldn't get it to work. in the app i worked with the guide mentioned above and got to a working state however the same configuration doesn't work with the bootloader.

Is there any reason why you don't want to use the NRF_LOG module during debugging/development? I am sure it is possible to use

So you got the SWO to send one char at the time, right? I haven't tested this, but are you able to use the printf module to use the ITM_sendchar instead of the UART or RTT log?

Best regards,
