I apologize for the late reply.

I flashed the precompiled SR3 Product example hex (PCA20023-SR3_nRF52832_Product_Example.hex) to one of our remotes and I am not seeing any issue with Chrome and Google Voice Search. I have seen the "No internet connection" when the Laptop has not been connected to the Internet, but if you have a good internet connection then this sounds wierd. Have you tried unistalling and reinstalling chrome?

Best regards
