We're were very excited about the Primo ourselves and find it sad that it was such a short lived project.

Yes, guess my Arduino Primo is a mixed blessing. Has a lot of neat potential capabilities (combine BLE and IR, etc.) but they "retired" it almost as soon as it was released for sale!

Ok, well thank you for your time. I guess this case belongs in the "who cares" pile and should be closed.

It's the PC spplication not the phone application, my bad!

I see the Android version has a pre-built CTS service, but it seem to lack the Reference Time Information characteristic, that might be it. Or it is the arduino sketch. We do not have much, if any, experience with the Primo or Sketch, so you will have to depend on help from the community.

Also I believe Arduino scrapped the Primo project after they merged the two company branches so this is not really a platform with any future support :/

Hmmm. I wish I could get that screen to pop up on my nRF Connect. I checked, it says I have the latest version. How did you get that screen?

I'm confused, you're using the nRF Connect application as the CTS server right? If so you need to add the CTS characteristics to the service in nRF Connect.

So just to make sure I understand, you are saying that if I add characteristics for those 3 to my Arduino sketch, and just select the Current Time Service in the nRF Connect app advertiser section (I noticed there is a Reference Time Update Service advertiser too, but no Local Time Information in the app), that the app will then send my desired Current Time Service data (time, ,month, day, year) to the Arduino?

I've checked the nRF Connect application and the Current Time Service:

You need to add the Current Time, Local Time Information, and Reference Time Information characteristics with all their properties and permissions to the Current Time Service.

My only assets at the moment are an Arduino Primo with it's nRF52382, an iPhone with nRF Connect, nRF Toolbox and nRF Beacon. Can I do anything with these assets, or do I need to get something else?

" -I'm currently at my home office, but I'll check it out tomorrow. (I need to have a DK plugged into the PC i'm remoting into in order to use the BLE server implementation of nRF Connect).

We've got the nRF Sniffer, but you need an nRF52DK.

So even though Current Time Service 1805 is a service from the list of GATT services suggested as advertisers, it may not support the CTS server? Bizzarre.

Also, I do not know how to sniff the BLE communications. Is there a guide as to what code would allow me to do so?

Hey Dale, I'm not sure if nRF Connect has support for the CTS server. You should sniff the BLE communication between the nRFcOnnect device and the Primo to make sure that its working as it should.

More discovery: One of the Arduino Primo Example sketches called "remote test" also doesn't work. This sketch tries to "create" a remote service with non-Gatt service UUID of "fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff0". It also fails to get "discovered".

So, it's looking to me more like the problem is on the Arduino software side, right? If so, let me know.

I still would like to know that my procedure for loading the service on the nRF Connect is right (nRF Connect User Guide is a bit terse in the "Advertiser" section) but if the above mentioned problems are Arduino software, then just please review my steps for adding services in the nRF Connect app, comment and then close this Case out.

I have done more testing and found that I cannot get any of the BLE Gatt services (attempted to be used in the provided Arduino Primo Examples) to get "discovered".

All the example sketches stop when trying to use the "blePeripheralRemoteServicesDiscoveredHandler(BLECentral& central)" function.

Will investigate further but any helpful hints would be appreciated.
