&lt;p&gt;Have you connected a nRF5 DK or dongle to the computer? That is a requirement for using nRF Connect for Desktop (it cannot use the built in Bluetooth device of your computer).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I though the initial question was about nRF connect for Desktop, which is why I uploaded the screenshot pointing to the play button that you use to enable notifications. If you use another tool (such as nRF connect for iOS or Android or something else), then there are other ways to enable notifications. Which platform and application are you using?&lt;/p&gt;
