I have reported this internally. I will get back to you when I hear more from the mesh developers. They have created a new flash system in v2.2.0, so maybe this could be a reason for this priority issue.

Update: The suggestion from R&D is to make a few changes in the mesh/stack/src/mesh_stack.c file. Below is the fixed & the original file:

Just an FYI: I am having a similar issue here:

While trying to get the options API to function by changing the IRQ priority of the mesh api:

.core.irq_priority = NRF_MESH_IRQ_PRIORITY_THREAD,

the proxy interface assetrts in bearer_event_in_correct_irq_priority().

When I use SDK 2.1.1 I do not have this issue
