I was made aware that there is an <a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.meshsdk.v2.2.0/md_examples_experimental_dimming_README.html?cp=4_1_0_4_1">experimental dimming example</a> in the mesh sdk v2.2.0 that uses PWM from SDK 15. So I would maybe recommend using v2.2.0 if you can.
