I am still having a problem, where it works for the initial connect, but then after disconnecting and reconnecting, I do not receive any ANCS updates. Is anyone seeing something similar?

I have been having problems too. Today I got the ANCS library mentioned which worked for me with iOS 8. I was using a RedBear Labs BlendMicro for my project. Seems there was a recent update.

I like it! Unfortunately I don't have any extra HW. Is there an iOS App or OSX program that can monitor BLE not sent to that device?

Have you tried to do some sniffing? To look for differences between iOS7 and iOS8?

I tried iOS 8.1 and that did not seem to fix it...

Seeing some strangeness with the UART app as well.
