Glad you found the issue. I was not aware that you were using the WDT.

I know this link is for another chip, but the WDT reset behavior is the same for nRF51822. Note that soft resets, wakeup from system OFF, and CPU lockup does not reset the WDT.

Finally I found the answer because the watchdog was started in the application and the soft reset did not stop it. The solution is here.

Thanks for your reply and I'm sorry I didn't make it clear the sd+app+bootloader+bootloader settings.hex was flashed by the debugger. We only need to update the application.zip through OTA in final product.

Hello,

You can't upload sd+app+bootloader+bootloader settings in one DFU packet. You can do it if you use nrfutil directly (only the later versions of nrfutil), but it might not be possible using nRF Connect. If you use nrfutil, this application will split the DFU packet in two packets. One for the sd+bootloader, and one for the application.

Can you try to upload a packet with SD + bootloader first, and then the application in the end? Does that work?
