I cannot see modules available from those distributors, only the IC, which ones sell the SMD 1.27mm module as shown in my image?

I am checking with QA if this is a valid chip or not. Could you upload a picture of the non working chip so we can see the exact markings. Thanks.

Edit: QA says there are inconsistencies in the markings. So these are most likely fake. I would recommend that you buy modules from one of our distributors: https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/Buy-Online

I have checked with our supplier and they assure me the modules were made with genuine Nordic NRF24L01+

There is definitely something different between the batch of Devices dated week 15 of 2017 and week 8 of 2018. Our code works perfectly on the 2017 version but not at all on the 2018. The SPI works ok but does not make valid transmission. If I could find out what parameters have changed then I can see how this has caused our code to stop.

We can swap out just the module with NRF24L01+ from non-working 2018 version with a 2017 version and it again works fine with our code. Put back a 2018 version and it does not work.

Do you have contact for any company that make a module as shown above who do purchase and use your genuine Nordic IC. I cannot find a manufacturer and the sellers are all Chinese companies, making it hard to determine whether the IC is genuine on the module.

I do not know the manufacturer. We purchased initially via Zitrok and then Walsoon.

How can we determine if it is genuine Nordic IC being used? The Numbers on device are

NRF M

24L01 +

1808 A H

Doesn't this give us the year, week and location of manufacture?

Is there an ID we can read from the device using SPI that can be used to check if genuine?

We did not buy the devices. We purchased complete RF Modules with the device fitted already (the SMD 1.27mm version).

The modules themselves are identical but the date codes on the NRF24L01+ are different. The 2017 marked devices work fine but the 2018 do not (They are marked NRF24L01+ M, 1808 A H (need to double confirm second letter in the morning, is letter after year/week is A.

Where did you purchase the latest batch that does not work? i.e. which distributor?
