Hi, I got the same problem. I read the the following answers, but I don't where to put the company identifier code. I've spent tens hours to solve this hacks.

Nice find.. we're been using the 0x004C so didn't have a problem, but good to note!

Ok, I figured it out.

I had to change Company identifier code from 0x0059 (Nordic Semiconductor) to 0x004C (Apple).

The only explanation I can get from that is that Apple started to 'monitor' this specification, because iOS 7 worked just fine.

I believe this is not the case here. I always create a region with UUID and identifier (I also tried to set major and minor) and beacons are not detected.

Side note: If I create "the same" beacon with another iPhone my application detects it

Side note: I tried to run Nordic's demo app on my iPhone but it crashes

iOS 8 can't scan for iBeacons anymore

Scanning for unknown iBeacons is banned starting from iOS8.

Now you can 'see' an iBeacon only if you know its UUID.
