I am currently aiming to create an application for the nRF52-DK using the nRF5 SDK and Segger Embedded Studio as my IDE.
Due to the SDK itself being extremely extensive, I have no overview over all the libraries, drivers and HAL-Code inside

RE: Using the nRF5 SDK within an external folder

The document could not be found...

The API reference on Infocenter should provide you with a good overview: http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.nordic.infocenter.s132.api.v6.1.0%2Fmodules.html&cp=2_3_1_1_0_2

The files you need depends entirely on the dependencies of the example project you use. A good indicator are the included files in the makefile of your example project.

Cheers

Jared
