It was frustrating for me at the beginning as well. It has improved a lot since then. There are more and more support for embedded development with Eclipse, especially ARM. I am not an Eclipse developer. It took me a while to gather all the require elements to make it easier on the setup. So I put up the blog, first to be a note book so I can always reinstall when needed also it may save a lot of frustrating times for others as well. Also because I work mostly on MAC OSX, not much IDE out there can do multi-platform. I've been using Eclipse for the last 3-4 years and still learning new tricks every day. :)

It's been awhile so maybe I should look at Eclipse again. But given my frustration with Eclipse in the past I'm looking at all options. I don't mind paying a reasonable sum for a good solution, and it looks like Imagecraft has focused on ARM and providing an excellent IDE.

Why not use totally free Eclipse based gcc instead of a trial ? Look here embeddedsoftdev.blogspot.ca/.../ehal-nrf51.html
