What are the differences between nRF SDK for Mesh version 1.0.1 and 2.2.0?

Hi all, 
 I'm testing out and adapting the Thingy Mesh Demo v0.1 , which uses nRF SDK for Mesh v1.0.1 for my internship. I will be testing out a Thingy's Mesh network for the following few months. 
 Now I am wondering if it is advisable to switch to v2.2.0, for this question I would like to know the differences between the 2 versions. I have already found the changelog but I find it hard to find out the exact differences. 
 I hope someone can help me with this!

Hi Jan, 
 I would recommend to take a look at this youtube video first . In the comments, you can find the source code for the Thingy demo that uses Mesh SDK v2.2.0. The link you sent is an old version of the Thingy demo, which I would definitely not recommend using. Then, I would download the nRF Mesh app for iOS or Android. The video explains things well, but if you want a step by step tutorial, I would take a look at these pdfs below. You do not need to download the modified mesh SDK, just use the regular one (v2.2.0) & add the files from this link . 
 Quick comment: The Thingy demo uses a slightly modified Generic OnOff model (i.e. it is not the same as the Generic OnOff model located in the v2.2.0 mesh sdk).
