There is also quite a bit of <a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.sdk5.v12.3.0/ble_sdk_app_dfu_bootloader.html?cp=4_0_7_4_3_1">documentation in our Infocenter</a> on the subject of DFU. I would recommend using sdk v12.3 if that is a possibility.
