&lt;p&gt;The nRF51822 is still going to be supported for the foreseeable future. As for depecation of 4.0 and 4.1 I suppose there is not a whole lot we can do about that, but keep in mind that the S130 Softdevice for the nRF51 series is 4.2 compliant.&lt;/p&gt;
