A fix release of nRF Connect for Desktop is available! It includes a fix for the PPK White Screen issue.

From my understanding it's an issue in the "core", so fix and testing require more work. There is some good news though, a fix will be prioritized, so hopefully within a very few weeks there will be a release ready.

I rely quite heavily on the tools in nRF Connect, so a "sooner rather than later" fix would be appreciated. Can you share what the issue is? Is there anything I can do to mitigate it?

I don't mind building from source, but I can't see that any patch has been made to the nRF Connect or PPK repositories.

They have identified the issue, however there is no new release planned at the moment, so this might take a while. I guess it will depend on the impact for you whether a fix-release is necessary sooner rather than later.

If you have a package called "modemmanager" installed,uninstall it. It sees the /dev/ttyACM0 device and tries to send AT commands to it.

Just for you to know. I tried to use the PPK on a windows 10 PC and had the white screen error also on windows now once.

Is there anything I can help with debugging? Unfortunately there is no output on the dev-console and also no output on command line.

Additionaly to the white screen problem, it looks like the RTT connection is very unstable. If nrfconnect stays running I usually have to connect to the PPK multiple times until it is working. "Failed to open RTT channel"
