the combination suggested did not work out, but gave me a clue,
I took the saadc example, which has a pca10040e version,
and swapped the sdk_config with radio_test, fixed the errors
using sections from the original radio_test sdk_config,
and it works now on the DK and on the custom 810.
seems NRFX_UARTE0_ENABLED 0 is ok, and NRFX_UART_ENABLED section not needed.

sdk_config.h

line 248: "#define NRFX_UARTE0_ENABLED 0" needs to be set to 1.

line 365: "#define NRFX_UART_ENABLED 1" needs to be set to 0, i think.

You also might run into issues if you use uart as the backend for the log module because the 810 only got the one UARTE peripheral.

I'm running into the same errors (unknown type name 'NRF_UART_Type') as mentioned in this case (that case uses SPI example which also does not have nrf52810 version).
Could this be a uart legacy issue in sdk_config.h?

(I also tried example uart as a base and same error)

Hi,

Yes, this example can be used, just add the NRF52810 define so that you do not enable the ICACHE which nRF52810 does not have. You can also see this user guide on how to transfer a PCA10040 project to nRF52810 HW.
