Hi Oli,

Happy to hear it. It might sound like the NFC part of your phone might not be the best. Range with the DK is seldomly more than 20-30mm, but it should not be too hard to get it working, maybe you have better luck with a different phone?

Hi Andreas,

It took numerous trials to eventually have it work. Looks like the NFC range is very small and required that my phone's antenna (above the camera lens) be exactly in the flex antenna's field. So, it worked.

I'm good to go, moving forward back in time to programming lessons years back 🙂

The preflash example should work, I just flashed the precompiled PCA10056 hex file and it works just fine here. Are you able to spot any damage to the DK? E.g. any of C46, C47, R46 or R44 not mounted?

Hi Andreas,

Sorry for the late reply. I got to travel to a different time zone and got no time to look into this.

Indeed, I was able to recover the preflash version. Thanks a lot for the pointer.

My phone still does not want to react to the NFC (yes, I have enabled it :) ). I will check with another phone once I get back home. I was able to get the nRF app connect to the BT though.

Hi,

I am not sure why the pre-flashed demo did not work, but when you flashed the nRF52832 you loaded an image that runs, but uses different pins for toggling the LEDs (the LEDs are connected to different pins on the nRF52832 DK and nRF52840 DK). You can find the binary in the SDK (download it here if you need), it is the 'preflash example' under /examples/peripheral/preflash/. Make sure you flash the 'pca10056' version.

There should not be any reason why the NFC part should not work here. I know this is a stupid question, and I apologize for that, but you have enabled NFC in your phone, right?
