It seems that the nRF8001-SDK is now deprecated, and the recommendation is to just use the Android SDK instead - don't bother with the nRF8001-SDK!

The Bluetooth low energy SDK for Arduino is available for a free download. This SDK uses the nRF8001. https://forumarchive.bluetooth.org/pages/forum.aspx?action=ViewPosts&fid=6&tid=63 A new version of the SDK should be available in devzone soon.

Hi, is it possible to get an SDK without buying a Dev Kit for NRF8001? We are creating our own board, so dont need a board with a different MCU. Thanks!

The red lock means that you have to register the product key that comes with your kit on your "My Page" on [url=https://www.nordicsemi.com/]nordicsemi.com[/url before you can download the SDK.

I clicked on your link "SDK", but that's what I see: "Code" - NRF8001-SDK (the black text, is not a blue link) "Name" - nRF8001 SDK Installer (the black text, is not a blue link) "Version" - picture of the "red lock". For examle, with nRFgo Studio I had no problems.

Yes, that's true, on the nRF8001 page you have to click on the "development tools and software" tab. There you will find the downloads, among them is the SDK.
