&lt;p&gt;thank you for your answer, which solved my problem. Feeling a bit dumb after I found that the solution was already mentioned in the sniffer user guide ch. 5.3. Just a case of RTFM :-(&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Once the device is selected from the drop down menu at the top, it should follow the connection, unless the sniffer lost the CONNECT_REQ packet.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Is this happening every time, or only once-in-a-while?&lt;/p&gt;
