How often do you see this error? Is the PPK connected directly to the USB of the PC (not through a hub, etc.)? Have you tried a different USB cable, or with another PC?

Yes. We have observed even if we place PPK on top of DK.

Most likely there is some issue with the communication with the PPK. Do you get this error if you place the PPK on top of the DK as well?

Can you please tell me why this error "Failed to read PPK metadata" come most of the times?

There is no difference in using external cable to debugger or adding the kit on top of the DK, the same debug pins will be used. Only difference is that PPK is also powered from the DK.

Hi,

Can you try connecting the PPK's "External DUT" lines to "External supply" of the DK, and put the VEXT->nRF switch in ON position? You should also power the DK with a USB cable, to provide enough current for the Segger J-Link IC.
