As already noted, there are many things which could make a connection "BLE 5".

So you'd need to check that whichever one(s) you requested has/have been accepted.

nRF Connect for desktop need to be used with a Dongle - so be sure to select a dongle which supports the BLE5 features you require!

nRF Connect for mobile would require a "Bluetooth 5" mobile - which mehdi says (s)he doesn't have.

And, even if (s)he did have a mobile which said "Bluetooth 5" - it would be hard to find what that actually means.

Hi,

Let me add to the list of central options.

You can use nRF Connect, either for desktop or for mobile. It lets you connect to any BLE peripheral, bond, use the characteristics, etc. At least that would be the quickest and easiest way to just get started.

What, exactly, do you mean by that?

Note that there are many optional features that allow people to call their application "BLE 5" - so which ones are you actually interested in?

eg, the nRF52832 does not support the BLE 5 Range Extensions ("Coded PHY"):

Just put the basic Central functionality on the DK, and communicate with the PC via COM port
Use the pc-ble-driver
Look at Serialisation.
