Then you can still use DFU with Single Bank Updates (instead of Dual Bank Updates). For more documentation regarding this and what they mean, please check this out.

We don't have enough memory space to accommodate 2 soft devices and 2 applications. What can we do about this?

Yes, DFU is one of the features we support in our SDK.

We need to perform a softdevice update for your devices. In our case, once a device is programmed, it cannot be reopened. While updating through DFU, in case an error occurs , it is required that the device should be reflashed. Can we do anything for it? Is there any other method to perform the softdevice update?

what do you mean by update the softdevice? Do you mean how to do a device firmware upgrade for updating the softdevice? There are tons of threads in here. Please search for "DFU softdevice" in the search tab in devzone.

Unfortunately no because

The the MBR part of the softdevice expects to to be the first logical part of code that processes the IRQs first and forward if needed.
The softdevice jumps to a particular address where it expects the application vector table. Normally to the address, which is the size of of the softdevice itself. Hence moving the softdevice will make it to fail to start the application which cannot be placed in the point where softdevice expects it.
