I have an application wherein I need to scan for beacons within a desired range(10m, 20m) using nrf52840.
I know of adjusting the transmit power using gap_ble_tx_power_set(int8 tx_power) function in the library which can be used for beacons.

RE: Changing bluetooth range of nrf52840
Will above setting work in case of a scanner?
What do you mean by "work" ?

It will work in that it will adjust the scanner's transmit power.

But that won't be any help in determining how far away the beacons are!

Do a search of this forum for the many, many previous threads on trying to determine distance using BLE ...
