We are sending devices for RF/wireless testing and need test firmware that allows for the Bluetooth frequency and transmission power to be easily adjusted. Does Nordic have anything available for nRF51822?

RE: Test firmware to use during RF/wireless and FCC testing

Hi Greg

First of all, you'll need a way to program the nRF52 devices initially, as the chips are blank by default, either before you mount the chips onto your wearable board, or by making the SWD pins available from your design, so you can connect it to a JLink programmer.

Seeing as this really isn't relevant to this case, in particular, I suggest that you create a ticket of your own if you need further instructions on the matter.

Best regards,

I have a similar question. I'm trying to get my device which is a wearable built around the nRF532832 certified by the FCC. So I cannot connect to it via USB because it's only Bluetooth Accessible. Can you suggest how I can put these devices into test mode so I can get FCC Certified?

I know how to program in Xcode, but have never performed any firmware programming. But I have downloaded the Dev kit and tools and have acquired a dongle (I thought I'd be able to connect to other devices that way?). I guess the first thing I need to do is to get them into DFU mode?

Thank you,

For RF/wireless testing I suggest you use our Radio Test Example found under SDK/examples/peripheral/radio_test. This lets you adjust the desired parameters easily in a terminal.

Best regards,
