Using nrf_drv_rng_init() instead seems to be working for me.

I suppose I can, even if that driver seems to have more overhead. I'll let you know how it goes.

I think the problem is that you call nrfx_rng_init(), looking at this API it seems that it does not check if the SoftDevice is enabled.

Could you instead use nrf_drv_rng_init()?

Well if it helps at all is that when i call nrfx_rng_init() before nrf_sdh_enable_request() the softdevice fails to load.

Are you sure about this?

In the SDK, it does not look like this API function writes any errors if something goes wrong. Did you follow the debug tutorial in the link i sent?

Actually it the problem seems to lie in when i call nrfx_rng_init() in my other task. i have no idea why it would cause a fatal error though
