Sorry, what I mean it is seldom used in new example projects made, and that the file itself practically doesn't do anything. You can cut the file out entirely if you remove the defines tied to it as well, but it is easier (less work) to just use the file from SoftDevice 6.1.0

I understood your reply. What I don't understand is why nrf_sd_def.h would be seldom used, since it is (indirectly) included by nrf_rtc.h, which I feel should be used fairly often.

I mean that the nrf_sd_def.h file was seldom used, so it was removed from the latest SoftDevice, you will have to copy it from SoftDevice 6.1.0 to get your application to run. Sorry for any confusion.

Our firmware includes nrf_rtc.h.

nrf_rtc.h includes nrfx.h

nrfx.h includes nrfx_glue.h

nrfx_glue.h includes sdk_resources.h

sdk_resources.h includes nrf_sd_def.h

Do you mean that nrf_rtc.h is seldom used, or did I miss something?

This file was not added in the last SoftDevice due to it seldom being used, and therefore not updated. So you will have to copy it from 6.1.0 to make your applications compile and run.
