Hi,

The nRF52840 onboard NFC module is a NFC-A tag implementation, it can not be used as a poller as it does not itself set up the electromagnetic field needed to communicate with a tag or card.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. As far as I understand the mentioned thread, it describes how to use the nRF52... as a NFC-A listening device which can send NDEF messages when e. g. a smart phone is hold to its antenna.

But I would like to use the nRF52840 as a "poller device" which reads back the RFID of a mifare card when hold to the antenna. Is there more documentation or example how this is done?

Hi,

See the answer in this thread, it applies to nRF52840 also and is still valid, the answer should be pretty much the same for classic as for DESfire. Remember that nRF52 supports type 2 and type 4 tags, Mifare variants based on those should be possible to implement.
